Hi I have a problem with my site, the problem is that I want to attach the media playback component in macromedia flash to an I.P address broadcasting a stream of music.

I have done the above and works fine on my standalone flash player it recieves the the stream, but when the flash movie (.swf) is placed in the website and opened up in a browser nothing happens, nor does it work if you open the .swf file directly in Internet explorer or firefox.

would be grateful for any assistance

Thanks

tom

Tom I've done some research and I'm coming up empty on this. I want to be sure I'm understanding your problem correctly. I'm assuming that other swf files DO play from your browser - that is, the browser plug-in is configured correctly in each case.

If that's the case, is the source of this swf file also a site of yours? Or is it a service you are hooking up with? If it's not your source, maybe the third party could help clarify this issue for you. I'm also a bit suspicious of using the IP address for the link instead of a domain name -- although you say it works for your stand-alone player so that confounds me on this approach.
