Flash, Dreamweaver and publishing?!

Difficulty publishing

Im fairly new with the macromedia stuff...I have created a website in flash and exported the swf to embed in dreamweaver. I embedded it and saved it as html but every time I try to upload or publish it to the domain or even to view it outside of the preview in dreamweaver it only shows the empty space where the flash movie should be......
Any ideas, did I do something wrong?

tried-unfortunately, doesnt work...its a bit strange though because the html file ways only 4 k after i save it to upload and the swf from flash weighs around 1mb..?
I think Im going to try flash on a pc and hope its just a glitch with the mx for mac.

don't rely on DW to upload anything ..use another such as cute ftp ( the pro version is worth the money )..you have to have the .swf on the server to be able to view it ..your built in DW uploader is only sending the html file .."embed" doesn't mean "cemented in"..

what the hell do you have in a 1meg flash file? break it down into smaller components and call in external content, or is it a video?

yes its a video/site that im trying to embed into a dreamweaver html.
Thanks, Ill try the ftp thing.....is it possible that I dont just need the swf but also all the files and folders related with it?

is the video linked or embedded, and have you an flv file around somewhere?

The film is embedded into a dreamweaver html page and I have the FLA file...is that the same as the FLV?
I am now attempting to upload every bit of info that is inside the FLA and SWF and hoping that it will fix it. Does this make any difference?
thanks again

no flv is flash video I presume the swf contains the video in it, you need to just upload the html file and the swf, make sure the paths in the embed code are right.

I just tried to upload the embedded file from dreamweaver as well as the swf, the only thing it shows when i open the htm file that is uploaded is the frame that is the color of the background of the swf, it says it weighs nothing and that it is a html text document..
Could it be a problem with the exporter of flash,
i think the enbed code is fine, it all looks perfect...wierd
?

What was the solution? Just a "path to swf" mistake?

No, the hosts had blocked flash in their control panel file manager, once tested on the actual web it was fine.
