Do search engines have a problem with some flash content on a site?

Hello,

I know that a web page in flash doesn't get picked up well. However, is there any disadvantage to having a html/php/asp site with embedded Flash top banner, flash buttons and etc?

Does this hurt chances of Search Engines picking up and reading the site well?

Can you put alt text in a flash button or banner in flash? How do Search Engines read embedded flash?

search engines can't crawl Flash for content yet. So I wouldn't use Flash for my navigation. But if you do, make sure to have the navigation links somewhere on the page (a footer is a good idea).

Yes, for navigation use text links, they are best for spiders. They cant find links in flash.
