Flash Player 6 vs. Flash Player 7

My manager is questioning me why most sites are using Flash Player 6 generated content, and I am using 7. He asked me if we should use 6, or require people viewing our site to have Flash Player 7 installed? Is it still a good idea to use 6?

If you are saying you are using Flash MX 2004 for development, they are supposed to play in the Flash 6 player, according to Macromedia.
