select the text on the stage where you want to put a link and type the link in the properties menu located left of the target input box. Also make sure that the text field is static and not dynamic or an input .

I was referring to a link with in the flash movie itself....,my aim is to create a flash banner and have a link in it to a separate page which opens on click....

I am using frontpage to create my site and i am putting a flash banner .....is there a way to make a complete flash banner clickable? so that the banner can be clicked at any given time during its play rather than waiting for the link to appear in the movie!

In the bottom layer across the entire timeline place a button the entire size of the stage. It can be the same color as your background.

Select the button on the stage. Go to Behaviors pane.
Click Plus Sign, Choose Web, Choose Go To Website.
Type your URL and select whether you want it in a new (blank) window or the same window (self), etc. That should do it.
