I'm having a strange error. One of my users can't hear the sound on a Flash movie - everyone else can. I've checked all the "is it plugged in?" type things.. Her speakers are on, the volume on them and on the desktop is turned up, she's able to play her own music, she has the latest Flash plugin..

The audio track is an MP3 file embedded in the movie. The Flash itself is embedded in the page using the Flash Satay method from A List Apart, without the hack for IE, so the movie shouldn't be showing up until the whole thing loads. Hence, I assume it isn't a streaming problem.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Does this happen in any browser she tries?

Good question. She only has IE6/Win2k installed. But all the other browsers that are playing it are also IE6/Win2k, so it seems that wouldn't be the problem.

There are settings in IE to disable sound/media - check those. Some soundcard software adds control panels that override Windows volume controls - check for them - while you're at it, change the Windows volume controls to advanced and make sure nothing necessary is muted or set too low.

Using another browser would let you know if it's IE or something else... Download Mozilla!
