Any idea how much time does it take to get indexed in altavista once it's registered with Looksmart..(express submission)

About one week in my case. But I don't know the update frequency as I've submitted to looksmart only once.

Generally, the looksmart-fed directory of altavista give us very little traffic despite multiple placement in various categories. Hope you will have more luck.

I have the maximum number of LookSmart listings, but all of my results still only come from my regular AltaVista listing. In MY opinion, LookSmart has had no effect on my AltaVista rankings.

Hi starec & ebgreen

In my case it's almost 3 weeks, since I have subscribed to express submission of LK. My site is still not registered with AV, though it happened within 2 days in MSN.

any sign of AV spider visiting...

The looksmart listing will only get you listed in the directory on AV's homepage. Don't expect any special AV search listings because of Looksmart.

If you want to pull up when someone searches on AV you'll need to submit to AV seperately. Looksmart's database is only used when someone follows the category links on the homepage.

This means, I'll again have to cough up $$$ to get registered with AV. I've already tried submitting through free "basic submit" plan of AV, but no results yet !!!
any way out :-)

AV will crawl your site for free eventually, but they've been kinda slow lately. Of coarse you can always pay AV to spider you quickly, or pay overture for one of the top 3 spots on AV.
