In place of the usual chicken scratch submission code

"No submission code is available at this moment. Please wait 5 minutes to reload the page for a new submission code."

Yes, I see it.

Had to reload because it timed out on me first before I could get to the page.

Think they ran out of codes? ;) ;) ;)

See it too. Did the hand submit made during the last months lead to any inclusion? Not for me...

What a nice way to promote the express inclusion program, now with new a bold link under the code field.

Hello Macguru

Amazingly, some of the pages I submitted using the ransom code have been ranked and have appeared in the SERPS.

2 points to note: they have been strictly sorted by country domain - the .co.uk's are ONLY appearing in AV.co.uk and secondly this was slightly before the paid inclusion went live.

Hi All,

Markd, would it be possible for you to give us some more info regarding:

1) When you submitted these pages
2) Did you submit via altavista.co.uk or .com?
3) Have you got any of the pages in the .com database?
4) When did they appear?

Thanks,
Pete

Hello Pete

Happy to oblige:

The pages I am refering to were...

1)First submitted some on 1st July using the ransom note system, also another domain on 13th July

2)I submitted through AV.com, even though both domains were.co.uk's

3)I have not seen these pages appear in AV.com, but I'm not surprised as they seem to be filtering very strictly by the 'country domain'.

4) They started to be ranked in mid September and some pages have achieved top 10 positions on AV SERPS.

I suplemented my 'free submissions' with 3 AV PFP pages which targeted some competitive keyphrases. I submitted these end September and they were ranking by end October - a lot faster than the 'free' route.

Out of these 3 pages I have 2 no.1's and a no.41. I have 'tweaked' the page at 41 to try to get a better position without success as of yet.

I don't know if this means that AV has picked up the change and hasn't ranked the page as of yet, or my optimisation skills need some improvement - I think the latter!!

Will let you know if/when I see any movement.

Hope this helps

All the best

Markd
