Why does www.altavista.com/iepane is sometimes showing different results from the main site & why is the format different from the main url?

I don't get any different results. Tried it with several phrases.
As far as the format goes, I guess it's because it has to fit in that small frame window. But I did notice that with 'Show site abstracts' checked, it will show the description.

sure is strange cause i got a referrer from that link through a keyword search-but when i did the same keyword search today it displayed differently.
