Does AV count links

Does AV count links as the same way as google do
does it help me in ranking if i got alot of links to my site in AV
anyone knows wich se`s count links?

Hi Ove,

To my knoledge Google, Hotbot, Altavista, MSN, Lycos, Northern Light, Inktomi and Excite are counting inbound links. None of them is considering them with such importance than Google in relevance algorythm.

Altavista "claims" that the relevence of links both inbound and outbound greatly influence the results, but they have yet to live up to that claim.

About 75% of what they "claim" should affect their results but doesnt. Why? (see below)

On some competitive results I've been tracking, it seems to me that AV results are greatly influenced by ODP and Yahoo listings, at the least.
