When does AV crawl / update?

Does AV have a regular crawling schedule for the entire index? (Not just new submissions.) It looks like the latest "page updated" date is around April 5, 2001. Does this mean that AV has not updated their index since the early April crawl?

Their SERP has been changing, but this looks like just algo changes rather than a db change. Does anyone know when we can expect to see a big db update?

AV doesn't really have a regular schedule, but they are updating fairly consistantly. If you perform an advanced search you'll find 121,605,810 sites with dates after April 5th. I think what you're experiencing is AV preference for older pages rather than AV not updating.

Well something seems to have changed this week at AV. My inbound links have increased over three fold since last week (and they hadn't moved in months).

Is anyone getting traffic from their listings?

We got a site ranked 3rd on a very competitve single keyword, but are getting VERY little traffic. The title and description are fabulous, but no traffic, and very few conversions (although the site tends to have high conversion ratios when ranked in Yahoo).

Maybe it depends on keyword and user demographic? Is anyone seeing traffic?

"keyword and user demographic"

Technical/computer related keywords seem to pull the best traffic from AV...

Well, they've set themselves high standards.

This is the power search [altavista.com]

I personally like the Date menu which has 'today' as an option.

Can't find too many results but a search on 'when' brings something up with today's date.
