On a similar note, with all their new spiders running around: do you think they will finally start doing full text indexing?
I have proof if you like, there are strings which many documents contain that are in the database, which you can use the host function to see. But if you do a search for one of the unique strings, the documents don't appear, and they give a "null" result.
OTOH, google does do full text indexing. And they don't have a cheesy tag line that says, "the search company." IMHO, it takes a lot of gall to do what they do, and then not even try to come up with the same features that the market leaders have.
Fast also provides full text indexing. I'm not sure about the others, but I would label Google, Fast, and then AV as the top engines...or were. Now it's more a race between Fast/ Google.
To get back to topic, do you think that since this has the greek "delta" in it, they are either:
A: star trek fans, read, "delta flyer" in Voyager. ;)
or
B: they are finally figuring out that users want what google/fast offer, and if they don't pony up, they are going to continue to slid where only Go/NBCi have gone.
