Altavista sudden change in rankings

Has anyone found a big change in their listings. My pages have dropped at least 20 positions in the last week.

I think AV just began updating for anything submitted Dec. 4 - 6. I've noticed a slight drop as well, though I'm still in the top 20... Hopefully this will be the beginning of good things to come for AV, I've always liked their engine and I've always gotten good results... Hopefully they've been working out their algo during these last two (long) months and we'll all be happy later...
but I'm a pessimist who doesn't like to get his hopes up too much so if good things happen, I smile :D ...

Same here my SEPR's have changed today.

They were here around Jan 28-29, but there hasn't been any change. Still at #1. I resubmitted on Feb 1, but they haven't been back. Am waiting to see what happens.

I didn't think anything had changed because all of my pages have stayed the same. But a brand new page first submitted in December - just the index page, has shown up.

I had noindex on the other pages, but the links to them are active and include keywords. This page has shown up at #39 out of 1,514,480 which is fine. Another page of mine, same search term, came in at #27 and moved to #11 last update with nothing being changed - I've seen that happen before.

AV takes a lot of patience - at least there's still some sign of life.

cfhoney, how come you resubmitted? Did you change anything?

I'm a little afraid to tamper - if something is halfway decent, I generally leave it alone. If I add a page, I'll submit the new page and leave the others alone. If something drops a lot I'll make a couple of adjustments and for sure resubmit. I've had a page drop down 8 spots, left it alone, and it went back up again.

It was scooter1 on a site one month, and mercator the following month - none of the others, though (new site).

Do you happen to recall which spider came by?

Has anyone been dropped by AV lately. I lost about half of my pages on Friday or Sat (Feb. 16 & 17).
Whats going on?!
Over 570 Million pages listed, but mine aren't good enough : (
