I have a toy site that is ranking top 5 in Altavista and it's been getting some traffic! Not much - about 50 hits a day - but it's the first sign of life I've seen from Alta in a very very long time.

Just wanted to share.

We've noticed some (still little) AV traffic too. Just ran some history reports and things really started going up about 2-3 months ago, with steady increases.

Looks like this month will be the best AV month for the year in traffic (traditionally our slow season/month).

New content is always being added and spidered which could accord for some of this.

Hmmmm... well, if, say, it was 5 hits a day a month ago, then it's a rapid tenfold increase, which I think was the point of the post.

I had a full-full crawl from scooter today, which is very-very strange for me.

Last month a whopping 0.86% of my hits came from AV. Seems a bit early for me, at least, to talk of a rebirth of that engine.
