I know this has been discussed umpteen number of times...but I still want to know the current opinion.

What is the current status of inktomi PFI.

1) Do they still throw out the currently indexed pages if one pays for inclusion of a page some of whose other pages are already in its index...any recent experiences?

2) Will it be advisable to pay for homepage for a newly built site if I eventually want another 20-40 pages of that domain in the index for free...or should I rather wait for them to be slurped by inktomi on its own as I am afraid they may not slurp the rest if I pay for one.

*I don't really need a 48 hour refresh.
*Getting in quick won't hurt but can wait if good for long term.
*Don't want to pay for all 40 pages .. no probs with one.

Jaski,

I have had older sites as well as newer included in Ink.

I did not lose pages from the older sites and have had the newer ones slurped very deeply. I am not seeing the newer ones in the serps yet, but they have only been slurped April/May.

If it is a site you will earn money from $30 is a small investment to get in there fast and re-visited often so you can optimize quickly.

Ink seems pretty good about including unpaid pages in the index regardless of whether any other from the site are in paid inclusion. Haven't noticed free ones being excluded.

IMO pay for pages on a site for short term gain, don't pay for sites with a longer outlook, if there are enough links to the site eventually it will get listed for free.
