Last week, testing a hunch, I submitted 45 domains as Spam to altavista's spam reporting url. Today those 45 domains are getting "too many urls submitted". Only about 10 of those urls were actually guilty of spamming. (connect the dots).
I am not suggesting this as a course of action. But it could explain some things.
