The call yesterday claimed that they purchased the real name technology that Microsoft was developing (note they are not the only call that has claimed this and they asked if I had heard of Bill Gates!). It sounded somewhat scammy because they basically tried a scare tactic in the sale (you know the old "I might have to call your competitor" routine).
Claims by commonname.com:
1) 24,000,000 subscribers.
2) will be the next Google in a couple of years, since they already had 1/3 the amount of subscribers.
3) unable to answer any direct technical questions such as how many times a certain keyword was searched within their engine (I believe a simple software program could answer that!)
4) wanted to know if a went forward, would I just be using a credit card?!?(kind of wierd was the manner she asked, "so if you decide by Friday, you will just put it on your credit card, right?"
5) $299 1st, $199 every year after to purchase the number one position.
Anyway, just making sure this isn't worth investing in and would love some input/feedback...
