Hi!

I have submitted my site to Altavista, I had submitted the index page using paid inclusion option. Scooter came by the next day and has been coming since then everyday(Almost).

My question is, it only visits index, html and doesn't take any of the other pages at all in to the index. while GoogleBot came by (without charging a single buck) and took all my pages from the sitemap's link.

How can that happen?

How can I feed more pages to Altavista?

TIA,

Altavista used to do a better job of crawling / indexing new stuff. But - the last time I saw a single referral from them was weeks ago, at least.

If you can get decent inbound links, etc, you should be able to get your site into AV with no problems ( the other pages, I mean ).

Of course, paying more is an option...

Google, on the other hand, doesn't charge for inclusion. :) They get a lot of attention for that, among other things.

AltaVista doesn't send any traffic anyway. I wouldn't spend any more money on paying them for inclusion.
