Scooter has been visiting on a regular basis all month and now shows refreshed in the last 48 hours in the SERPS.

A Scooter Freshbot?

AV was spidering a lot of my stuff, quicker & more regularly than Google about three months ago.

However, I've only seen 5 clicks for all that activity...despite good rankings. :(

If they get more distribution, it would be great, but I think the biggest hamper on more people actually using their search engine is the interface -> example, those links on the bottom.

It makes it pretty hard to see more than 1 set of results. And honestly, aren't the results what people are there for, and not the advertising? Mucking about with the user's intentions is a great way to frustrate them and convince them to search elsewhere...

anybody else think we should all chip in & buy Altavista a clue?

Altavista is competing with Lycos and AJ/Teoma for fourth place in referrals for me anything between 1-3% of total SE refs.

On our site we have had visit for our robots.txt and index page for the first time from scooter 3.3
Is it likely the spider come again and will go for more pages / a deeper crawl?
