getting indexed in msn without paying

but zeal only accepts english sites, mine is german!

Odp will definitely help. Inktomi crawls their database, so if you are listed there, chances are you'll get in.

www.allesklar.de. German directory used by msn.de.
It's paid inclusion, but worth it for commercial sites.
They still offer free inclusion. Why not give it a shot?

I`m using Submit It [submitit.bcentral.com] and then I wait for some months until the site shows up in the Inktomi database.

The GOO door to Inktomi has been closed for quite some time now. Submissions to goo will get you spidered and indexed in the goo search engine. It is no longer the free back-door into Inktomi.

Tor, that submit is only for sites in English. I use it sometimes. I generally find that it's a good idea to get a link up from a site that's already established in the Ink database.

Thank`s Marcia, I thought that you could use Submit It to submit sites in any language. No wonder I`ve been waiting so long for some Norwegian sites to show up in the Ink DB. ;)

Ha, I submit through MSN in English, and have lots of links from other good sites, and have still been waiting about four months for a new site to be indexed ... still nothing.

The best I can tell, their last big indexing of new sites was back in August, so they should be due soon, maybe in January or February.
