Inktomi: Free Inclusion Indexing

Been something like a full month, and one of my two domains is still MIA from the Pure Search *except for one internal page*. And this is all of a 4 page site. And, I do indeed link to index.htm from all the internal pages, so the bot can find it. I can only guess Inktomi is clueless. Doesn't mean that much, as my other domain is no less than #1 on the single critical one word search term that other domain was created for. And, as Inktomi seems an MSN sneeze away from oblivion, and because both sites are in Looksmart they'll come out on top at MSN even if they aren't in Ink. And, slurp has come around a number of times in the last month. Just grabbed index.htm again yesterday. The question is if that will ever get back into Inktomi before they finally go belly up in the river?

Hmm...well, at least you got one in for free (I guess).

I think INK has made the moves to stay here for the long term, shedding staff, selling off part of it's business, etc.

However, given the powerplay by LOOK with WiseNut on the horizon, I think INK still is as you say an 'msn sneeze' away from oblivion.

Certainly, the need new partners.

They could take search out of the closet (partners only) and launch their own brand.

Only the stuff that's been posted in the Alternative search engines forum [webmasterworld.com] which seems to indicate

1) new datacenter

2) fresh database updated regularly

If that's true, Macguru's Inktomi toe tag [webmasterworld.com] might still be needed.
