was about to pay for some more urls to be included, but with the recent changes in spidering (supposed no more BOW, and deeper more frequent regular spidering) and deals I was wondering what you all think -- is it worth it any more? why/why not?

I have paid for it! And only get about 6/10 hits a day :(

but i suppose if you have a content site it would be worth it, i only run business sites really although i have just started my own forums :D

I think it all depends on what keyphrases your targeting.. If you can find good terms that MSN show INK results for, then go for it.. If not, your probably better off spending your money elsewhere...

If you look at the 12 month picture (as it's a 12 month investment), average your click throughs per month and if it works out being a low cost per click, it's worth it.

Most of our clients are on about a 5 cent click through rate which is about 2 1/2 cents US and that's very reasonable to get someone to the web site.

I've notice that my PFI pages are outranked by my naturally spidered pages. For example my home page is out ranked by subpages that are not optimised for the KW entered into MSN. It's very strange. I've removed all my pages from PositionTech and I'm just waiting to get picked up naturally....

IMO all inclusion is worth it.

Before you pay, be sure to do an Inktomi Pure Search to see if they already have your site in there. If it's there, then all you have to do is optimize those specific pages.

If you're not already in there then go for it. I've had nothing but good feelings about their program. It's reasonably priced.

Among many other things, Inktomi also looks at Meta Keywords, so don't forget those.

I completely agree.

I've got a new directory that is accepting applications for site review... only $3000 per submission.

Sticky me for details. ;)

IMO it is worth it also.
Especially now that INK have sold off their enterprize section and have released a new version of their search.
