I have noticed that Altavista regularly visit all of my sites and sometimes goes very deep - but all of my ASP sites only have 1 page listed as where my HTML sites has all pages listed. Anybody had this problem?

Try submitting the asp pages directly.. Scooter is sometimes a little more shy when crawling dynamic links..

AV seems to have no problem with my straight ASP pages. The dynamic ones are what it does have a problem with.

AV doesn't really like pages with .asp? and & and = in them. can't remember now if it has a similar dislike of .cgi and .php pages

submit pages manually and AV will spider them with the instant spider and the pages will be listed in the SERPs. when scooter comes around to spider your site, it won't pick up the dynamic pages and your pages will drop out again. therefore, you need to manually submit them every time scooter comes around.

if getting the pages listed is important, you might want to switch to *nix servers and use php or perl and mod_rewrite to lose the? & and =

I vaguely remember from a couple of years ago that you could hand submit, omitting the end parameters when submitting, and they'd get in.

AV has no problem with .asp extenstions. However, It is, IMOH at current, no good at indexing pages with querystrings. I have seen what you described happen before. I changed the site a non-querystring url and all was fine.
