Since Hotbot (U.S.) isn't currently taking submissions and Hotbot (UK) notes that their search index comes from FAST, is there anywhere left to submit to Ink. for free?

I've always used HotBot UK www.hotbot.lycos.co.uk/submit.html. I hadn't heard anything about them switching to Fast.

I remember Inktomi Employee said 90% of submission is SPAM, so i would just collect some inbound links and Inktomi will probably index you.
They said that they update their index every second week.
I have had new sites in within a month, in the last 2 months.
Fresh off the presses, HotBot UK is switching to AllTheWeb/Fast. And if Lazerzubb is correct and Inktomi is going to rely on their spiders, they better hope they can compete with Google.

Yep, inbound links.
I've always found inclusion a long drawn out process... but I always get there in the end ;)

To submit to Ink for free you can always try [submitit.bcentral.com...] . Be prepared for a long wait though.

I submitted to bCentral [submitit.bcentral.com] about a month ago and saw this yesterday:
