-We're extremely proud of it for a number of reasons.
-It's the largest, most relevant and freshest by far
-We're now searching more than 2 billion web pages.

-Yes, there is a new "face" to Inktomi.
-...as the company refocuses entirely on search.
-We're all very excited about where our company and the Web search business are headed
-There are a lot of great things planned on the product side which you'll hear about shortly.
-we're aggressively pursuing relationships with additional partners, both new ones and old ones.

All this make me think they got the big deal that everyone speak about :)

If this is the case, this would be f.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c news ! :)

Don't forget that the Google contract with Y! ends in september ! :)

Go Inktomi, GO ! :)

P.S. I'm sure at 100% that Inktomi will not write in this thread for the reason that they can't speak ! :P :)

I really have to say that it is not such a far fetched idea. Someone in the huge yahoo search contract thread said they had heard it from an industry insider. They are also opening communication here.

IMO it would be he most short sited thing y! has ever done. The quality isn't truly there. It wouldn't surprise me if they chased the mighty short term Dollar, via the the reverse revenue stream, and it might make the ignorant investor happy in the short run, but as users exodus to google yahoo will feel the punishment.

Inktomi should spend more on developing a quality db, and less in guerrilla marketing.
