I clicked a link from Inktomi's site that was directing me to Verisigns page for signing up for the paid inclusion program (awful sentence huh)
On the page I arrived at I found this claim:

Get your Web site listed in the SureList search index, which powers many leading search sites on the Web. AOL, MSN, iWon and HotBot — to name just a few!

[netsol.com...]

After more than a month:
Get your Web site listed in the SureList search index, which powers many leading search sites on the Web. AOL, MSN, iWon and HotBot — to name just a few!

Taken from the netsol.com site (same url already posted) today.

Could this be construed as false advertising, since AOL and Iwon switched many weeks ago?

I think it is a matter of the lights being on, but no one is home.

I think someone should get in contact with GGuy about this.

why would somebody contact GGuy (assuming you meant GoogleGuy) about this? it's INKTOMI's reseller - Verisign - with outdated and misleading information on their site.

If I made a purchase while they displayed such incorrect information, I'd demand a refund.

In fact, for fun, I might go make a few purchases tonight - of course, after I take a screen shot of the page, put a time stamp on it, and then post it with a date on it someplace publically. LOL.

I'm sure Google (or at least Google's marketing department) would like proper recognition of who they are supplying. The statement is false advertisment, misleading, and creates inconsistencies in the communication received by customers.

AOL might be a bit more concerned than google.

It's still there, and INK even stopped by the forum again - but of course, why would they care if Verisign fixed it or not?

My bad, by the way, about Google, I could see how they'd be upset that Verisign makes people think that they can pay Verisign for inclusion into AOL, and hence, into Google.

I'm sure that will probably cause a few webmasters a headache, thinking they've found a new program.
