Inktomi and exit popups

Does Inktomi get screwed up if you have an exit pop-ip in a page.
The other day I included some exit pop-ups in some URLS that I have with PositionTech (Inktomi), and after that I started getting the red "x" in the Postech URL listing page. The error says "HTTP request timeout".
Is it just coincidence that it started happening after the pop-up?
Why would a pop-up cause problems?
FYI, the pop-up is triggered by onUnload event.

I've never heard of this causing a problem before (I personally don't use exit pop ups). With a 48hour refresh cycle it wouldn't be hard to test. Take the pop up code off one of your pages, wait a few days and see if the "x" disappears..

We use pop-ups like some people use water - no problems in INK so far - - - other than no real traffic

Pop-up does not appear to cause the problems, it was just coincidence.
