Curious as to whether I should ask looksmart to remove my listing since it is showing up instead of my Inktomi description. I'm not happy with the looksmart description and have no control over it and it doesn't have my site indexed like Inktomi.

I'm also curious as to whether Inktomi's will start being used after some time.

Many have done just that. Search around the other threads in this category to see what transpired, but it looks like Look$mart has the last word.

Ink descriptions became intermittent about the time they raised their prices causing me some headaches. [webmasterworld.com] Then the Look$mart switch started happening. I was able to get it fixed by constant complaining. [webmasterworld.com] Some people also suggest changing your listing to a different page than the index.

I've noticed that the LS description controls, but now my site is ranking for terms that are in the content of the page, so it seems to be a combo thing, although there's no reason to ever use LS now. Wish I had my $200 back.

Keep the L$ listing and your INK listing costs you 15c per click where they have overwritten your listing. Remove your L$ listing and the PPC code in your INK listing goes but (if you are paying INK) your listing stays - with the same rankings and no 15c cost. If you haven't paid INK and you are in L$ and they have overwritten your INK listing - basically L$ has stuffed you!

The L$ title and description never affected your INK listing (apart from enhancing it slightly). INK always considers the content on your page regardless of if it uses an L$ or ODP title and description.

Answering the question? I have hundreds of paid URLs in INK - I've removed those URLs which conflicted from L$.

L$ is a waste of breath (and money) for most listings.
