Inktomi rank boost for being in L$?

Partnership between the two.

For two months, my Inktomi listings have been showing L$ title/desc.

A L$ Support Rep told me today that sites in both Inktomi and L$ will default to the L$ title/description. Although Ink still crawling my site, and I have some high rankings, they are showing L$ description which has caused traffic to go down (because the L$ Gods gave me a crappy desc). If there is a partnership between them, could there be a rank boost for being in L$? I would like to drop L$ so that my Inktomi results go back to my metatag title/desc.

Worth a try...I just canceled my L$ listing. Maybe my Inktomi traffic will increase again now.

I canceled my L$ listing yesterday, and today my Inktomi rankings have plummited with virtually no traffic. Is it possible that the dropping of L$ could have triggered this? I thought the lag time would be greater...

Anyone have any information about the L$-Inktomi relationship?

crobb305 might be on to something.

I just check our INK clicks for the past 6 months, looks like the problem begin in April 02 (when L$ went PPC) our sites virtually have no activity in April or May.

I believe I am going to request our site owners to drop L$ as well!

I have been trying to out rank 3 sites in the inktomi database for sometime.

I finally checked to see if they were listed in LookSmart and yes they were there along with the title and description.

Adding it up, on the one hand we're hearing a boost for also having the L$ listing, and on the other a severe drop because of it, with a lousy LS title and description.

I assume you mean the LS title & description. Then they must have a good LS title and description then. How does it compare with yours, minnapple?

Marcia,

From what I have seen I received higher rankings but lower traffic (Because of the crappy desc that the L$ Gods gave me). No one was clicking through to my site. Now that I dropped L$, my rankings seem to have fallen again (but maybe I will see higher traffic--hehe...) What a joke.

Mine sucks because I had to keyword stuff to crawl up to the top. Theirs, while not the best, are heads and tails over mine. I would cloak but with aol going to google, I not going to bother.
I am number one in google.

I do have a LookSmart listing but it does not cover the regional term I am targeting.
