I would NEVER do this, but what would stop someone from submitting a site to Inktomi thru Positiontech and then withdrawing the submission, causing the page to get dropped temporarily?

i see what you mean,

but as PT take your credit card details if the website in question queried ink as to why they have been dropped you would be discovered fairly easily,

of course if they didn't complain to ink then ...

I checked their site. I don't see anything that says what is or is not acceptable. I don't even see where it says you must only submit your own site.

(: The evils of SEO'ism have come out. I believe what Click Watcher states to be true, for those who are not any wiser they would not have any clue. But how many webmasters would even question the company why there site was even dropped, esp. if they offer a submission service because its obvious that they should be paying.

And I'm merely trying to point out a flaw in the system.

I remember a while back they were going to make it more difficult to switch around domains, but nothing since.

Do you agree that this is a rather easy flaw to utilize if you are on the 'dark side'?

Yup. I don't believe there is anything illegal about it. Its better with network solutions' version where you can change the url every 2 days.

hmmmmm interesting

just for comparison, any laws regarding me sending an ad in the local rag promoting a rival company?? If this was negative advertising would they be able to sue??

Is that a valid comparison?

I wonder if its been done too ....hmmmm

definitely would leave a sour taste if there is money involved...

No, probably not against the law - but would be extremely easy to uncover and defend against - ...that is, if INK the it's partners were willing to help.

Don't think this one is worth spending to much worry time over.
