My site got listed today in AV, but is ranked 156 under my main search term. I definetly belong in the top 20 probably top 5. Why was my site ranked so low? And how can I bring it up? Should I resubmit, or let it move itself? Thanks a bunch....Please help.

Re submitting without any major changes to the site is not going to accomplish anything.. While you can wait for it to move there is no guarantee it will do so.. The fact that it is ranked 150+ should tell you that AV's algo disagrees with your assesment of where you should rank..

I'm not sure why you say it should be in the top 5. Based on what? Just analyzing a top ranking page on AV and matching what they did is not necessarliy going to get you the same ranking..

If you look closely at top ranking pages in AV and analyze a lot of them you'll see that the numbers will vary greatly.

First, I have to agree with dave, resubmitting isn't going to do you any good until you make some changes. Assuming that you've already done some sort of optimization to make your site search engine friendly (titles, metas, alts, etc..).

The next step with AV would be to work on your theme and your link popularity. I would try to work in my main keywords on every page possible, place in varying weights on different pages. I'd also work on the connectivity within your site by linking as many internal pages together as possible. Finally, Make it priority to spend an alloted amount of time everday looking for relevant links (and I stress relevant).
