I've been spidered considerably across multiple new domains...never seen this before. Is there a new Ink on the horizon? Did Ink ink a deal?

I was wondering the same Toolman. I'd imagine they are doing a full crawl again to build a web map (like alta did last spring).

I've seen Slurp/cat on almost all the domains I have, and not just on the root, also on many pages 1-2 tiers down.

Appears to be out of a different IP (202.212.5.xx) compared to the paid spider (209.185.141.249).

As I have submitted to Goo.ne.jp in the past it could be as a result of this, however I have not seen these pages listed in Ink based portals as yet.

The thing is I'm getting lots of pages into the free database now.

I've seen some dramatic ranking changes up and down in recent weeks.

Something is stirring...

Slurp is all over me like a rash.

I have also just had some pages added to the database from a domain that has not been in the Index for well over a year.

Had a whole load of pages dumped from another domain though.

Last night I got a few hits from sthg that identifies itself as "Inktomi Search", not as Slurp. First I thought it is an imposter but it's authentic ink ip, 209.131.62.214.

Anybody has more info on what it's about?

Starec, I got hit by the same.

[webmasterworld.com...]

It did not act like Slurp at all. It has me curious and suspect it is possibly the beginning of a new DB.
