Not got there yet, but if it's anything like when you switch pages I think you’ll find your ink listings will vanish

Yes.

The paid listing are contained in a different dB and "merged" with the other listings. As soon as you stop paying they will be removed from the paid dB, it is then a matter of getting in one of the other dB's to regain any Ink listings.

Thanks for your help guys.

Does INK still take free submissions like from their partners (eg HOTBOT)??

If so whats the time frame these days for winding up in the DB?.

I've found within 4 weeks so long as your not bothered about your position, as it will be buried

Does INK inform you before the expiring day?

If you pay for a page to be listed in Inktomi, should it not be listed in ALL the partners sites? Where is the best place to look for listings and how they're doing in Ink overall?

Tigger, how do you go about submitting sites to get them in the unpaid Ink data base in four weeks?

The best I can tell, Ink hasn't taken any of my new submissions via HotBot since around last March. I can't find them doing a url search in either HotBot or MSN, and they get no traffic at all from any of the Ink partners.

Jill,

Yes they should be in all the partners DBs but each partner can tweak as they see fit - so you my not rant the same in them all.

Mayor,

You don't!!! From what I can tell - if you don't pay, don't waste your time and energy...

Mayor - I think you are right there. I have not seen anything new since around march..(non-paid)

Maybe they are just not taking any more non-paid but that would be a bad thing.

Yes true indeed - but around April manage to slip one in using those submit software - probally by luck but after that no more - & by the way this URL that slip thru is very good for many keywords & moreover it's the index page -- hehehehe -tough luck

I have no idea if this will help or if was just coincidence. I read in a thread a few weeks ago about submitting to Goo. I did so and shortly after that, my ranking on all Ink sites improved tremendously. The listing had been very stale for quite some time. Of course, my sites were already in the INK db ... but it may be a back door to INK? Its worth a try.

I've been using the Goo submission too and have got some in, it does only tend to be the index only and the ranking isn't worth writing home about and I've really only been doing this just as back up in case something changes with the paid route

Other than that I've given up trying to submit to any of the other partners

Ink = money if you want in

I must be behind the times but what is the URL for Goo and is it worthwhile getting in, any pointers would be good.

Ad ;)

[goo.ne.jp...]

it's free and it MAY work :)

I presume this is a back door into ink, as my sites are not Japanese!

Yep, some people think it work's I've been submitting for sometime using it as it's free! Or maybe ink been finding my new site’s by following links to be honest I couldn’t really tell you.

Either which way, I wouldn’t loose sleep over it, as Steve said it’s all down to how many pages you want to pay for

Tigger is right, Ink only lists my index page ... but I have had significant (and impressive) boosts to rankings since submitting to Goo for both of my sites. As I said, both sites were already in INKs db, but it can't hurt.
