Paid Inclusion

This may have been answered before, if so I am sorry.
If you pay for your site to be spidered in inktomi, it says that the spider will return once a month.
Does this mean that if you have optimised the site and it has not done particulary well, you can re optimise the site, so when the spider comes back, it will see the newly optimised META and text on the site, and put in hopefully in a higher position.
Any ideas people?

in addition when you go to excite UK to the submit button, why does the inktomi paid inclusion come up when (I thought) Excite Uk does not use inktomi???

thanks
Adam

Yes you can keep tweaking away until you get the rankings your after.

The only link I know of with excite and ink is a tie up with web gravity, nothing to do with ink and excite

Ink will spider the page every 48 hours (most of the time).

You should allow up to 72 hours to see the results of an updated page on partner sites.

Hi folks,

I'm a newbie and am so impressed with the level of assistance here. I have some pretty basic questions, hope you can help:

There seems to be no place on AOL to submit to the Inktomi index, the only way to submit a URL to AOL is via DMOZ, but clearly AOL is also powered by Ink. Do I just submit to Ink directly and then it will automatically go out to its partners? Likewise with DMOZ? In other words, I'm not sure if I should manually submit to individual SE's or just to the SE's they are powered by.

Then, is the idea to re-submit when you have content changes, or when you are trying out some new optimization techniques? OR do you simply need to keep re-submitting on a regular basis just to ensure inclusion?

tcraft,

Welcome to WMW and the ink forum. Dig into the threads here and you will find all the answers to your questions and what to do. ink now is a pay to play provider for some of the SEs. To be included you will have to pay them through one of their hired guns...

In the good old day they were the best of the best for search results - now they are skewed by cash... :(

Thank you. I have subsequently found out that it's best just to submit to the main providers and they will put it out to thier partners. Thanks again for the forum. It's very helpful.
