Pure Ink in AOL

I Just found a way to get pure Inktomi results in AOL ! Go to:

[aolsearch.aol.com...]

Replace KEYWORD with the ones you want (in lower case). If you have only one keyword, remove the +KEYWORD ; &First= and &last= are the numbers of results you want; 1 to 10 as an example.

Pure Ink in AOL... Cool :)

I'm not sure exactly what those SERPs show.
It must be a filtered db relating to specifically AOL.

Go to the search page (aolsearch.aol.com) click options, check 'all of these words' and 'on the web only'...

Whoops! No that won't produce the same SERP as slan reported. But Slan's SERP is the same as MSN after the looksmart listings.

Ok :) Go to:

[aolsearch.aol.com...]

1- Click " options "
2- Click " on the web only "
3- Type i.e. " keyword " without quotes and click the search button
4- You get Inktomi results.

Click " more "

No more inktomi results on the next page BUT !

You will see on your browser address bar &first=6&last=10

Repeat step 1 to 4

On your address bar, put at the end of the string &first=1&last=50

(or the numbers you want!)

It's easy and it's fun !! :-) The only problem is that no AOL searcher do this to search Ink results :(

It's interesting. I'm getting different results from the SERP there and, what I've known as "clean" Ink data from other sources.
I've got more tests to carry out.

Has anyone else tested this out? What are the other ways to get 'clean' Ink data?

My understanding is that Ink offers a partner several different options for slicing and dicing their data. That would mean more than one "clean" version of Ink data.

hotbot.co.uk = pure inktomi
aol.co.uk = pure inktomi

(although, of course, there are slightly different algorythms for inktomi)
