Inktomi redirects

TWO POINTS

1)
Does anyone know exactly why pages i have submitted through the inktoni paid submission programme have the inktomi redirect url in front of my URLS?

As a result when i run Webposition Gold it will not pick up any of my keywords in the MSN search engine

2) Why is the re-direct only in the MSN search engine, why not Hotbot or AOL? as when you pay submit via Inktomi you also go in those search engines

I see what you meen

[redirect.inktomi.com...]
&i=41&c=1033&q=024hz%7D%3F4lvkzoplvkvpqvqx&r=0&d=&n=G2OQTD9QQ5NU4DDU&s=137&t=

I also see the same reditect on iWon's SERP
But not on Canada.com or AOl

They probably want to track the click though for the paid pages to see how well the service is working.

IMHO

knight00,

Again, welcome to WMW - I think INK is using it as some type of tracking system - but not sure of that.

Sure makes it easy to spot paid pages now.

It's on hotBot like this

[hotbot.lycos.com...]
http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2EMY%2DWEBSITES%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ehtml&id=1&userid=
6s8FPECQwSQg&q=MT=KEY%2DWORD&rsource=INK

The "&rsource=INK"

Is a dead give away

Thats what I was thinking to, I would have thought they would have tried to hide it a bit better. just goes to show that there's still hope to get into ink for free

would it make sense to say that this "redirect method" is also an easy way for them to shut off your account after the years period???

i just hope this method doesnt last i cant run reports with this re-direct thing!
