I just found a bunch of pages that were missing. This all feels very altavista-ish.

This stuff really isn't for the weak, meek or faint of heart. All of our stuff is back, both the well linked and the no linked sites.

Having survived this, think I'll take up racing or skydiving or run for public office.

Hope everyone else is back in...

Kamikaze,

Mainly MSN plus many of the little ones - nothing from Iwon or Snap. Hotbot, not yet - I'm not sure Ink has much to do with them anymore...

Thanks stcrim. Yeah, I noticed that MSN came "more" alive too. Hotbot has that shuffling "powered by" results so Inktomi doesn't get the love that MSN gives them. I haven't gotten much traffic from Hotbot INK.

What a ride. after riding the Yahoo Ink, MSn Ink, AOL INk the last month I am happy. Yesterday all my AOL INK Pages were gone along with half the MSN. They are all back and the traffic is great, good traffic with lots of sales.I hope it stays like this for another couple months minimum.I submit to Answers and Canada and find that the only Ink engines engines it will filter into now are MSN and Aol, which are the best now that Yahoo Ink has abandoned us.Hotbot,Snap,Goto and Iwon must be pulling from a different database. All my pages in these last four ink engines were dropped and then they spidered my site and indexed different pages, not the ones I would have submitted. They indexed 99 spammy doorways that do produce traffic and sales but I am now using themes and my own content doorways. Never a dull moment.

I can't seem to get anything new into Ink to save my life these past few weeks. I've tried the normal routes of canada.com and anzwers etc... but no luck and I know this worked not so very long ago. Any suggestions? I'm not sending in a ton of pages every day, maybe that's the problem, eh? :(

Same here, Jilly. Last few weeks, I haven't gotten a thing in via Anzwers, which used to be a set-your-watch 3 day propagation. I never submit more than 4 a day, so that can't be the prob.

Ink. looks to be running behind compared to the previous few months of 3-4 days to index. Could be the database burb they suffered last Thur?

We had mild spidering Sat and Sun, very light compared to the amount of "new" submissions waiting to be crawled. And they appear to be submissions that were submitted last Tues....

I have been submitting through Canada.com and the only major Inktomi portal that has been showing much of anything over the past couple of weeks in MSN. They have been showing results in 3-4 days.

We've had everthing spidered by ink in the last two weeks - top to bottom. I've not submitted but a few urls a day. Nothing to trigger a full crawl like that anyway.

Is it just me or did the traffic die down today? I don't think I saw much from MSN today. Inktomi usually drives a whole bunch of traffic for them.

3-4 days looks about right here. Submitted Monday night late to Canada. Started showing up on MSN this morning.

Interesting... basically all my pages disappeared all day yesterday, they all came back this morning. Weird... looks like they bring back pages or drop them according to the IP block you have??? I don't know...

We lost everything during the 1st week of July, droppage, then everything back the next day. Same thing happened yesterday, and back around 1AM today.

The one item to note for us: Last week we lost everything "except" MSN listings, this week MSN went away also....

I hope this doesn't start to occur on a weekly basis, because we'll be writing off 4.3 days of Inktomi traffic a month, ouch!
