Canada.com has been bought by Canwest in a package deal including many newspapers. Lets see if the new owners will continue to use Ink.

Anyone have a link to a story on this? I can't find anything on the wire about it.

There doesn't even seem to be anything on the canwest site either. Canada.com merely acknowledges the ownership in their copyright notice at the bottom.

I am looking now.
The following is from memory;
Canwest Global Systems= Global TV, Izzy Asper.
Hollinger.inc(owned Canada.com)=Conrad Black.
The deal also included local, regional, and a national newspaper. The story focused on the news paper deal.

There are times that I wish I were a motel maid. This last month is one of them. :)

My thought would be that anyone who jumps ship on Inktomi now is rather short-sighted.

Getting off topic, but...

>There are times that I wish I were a motel maid. This last month is one of them.

Laisha - how long have you been in this game? I remember stumbling on you sight before I knew how to use an ftp client. The last three months have been very hard. We're all feeling like we've spent the last quarter going through a tumble dryer. I'm glad you aren't a maid, it would have taken me a little longer to crack into this game without that site. Hang in there.

What I find to be the most interesting part about Ink's paid submission service is the portals were left out.
Why weren't the portals offered two "Add Url" options? The portals pay Ink to use the database.
Why weren't they given an opportunity to offset their cost? If I bought Canada.com and was not given the right to offer the paid service, I would start shopping. Wouldn't you?
