After the Bomb hit us all with the Inktomi engines, i lost my index page which had been in the db for quite a while. I had one page left standing after all the dust cleared, a doorway believe it or not. Then a couple weeks ago i noticed i have 4 pages in. I never resubmitted these pages and they wer no where to be found prior to the bomb. They are also doorways. Doorways with some content though.
Then 1 week ago i have 6 pages back in. One of the pages being a new submittal. Today i have 5 pages left, the new one got axed.
2 weeks ago i said the hell with it and resubmitted my main index, 1 week later still not in. Last Friday i resubmitted to Answers and Canada on hopes to get in...Surprise, never made it in again.
Slurp has been taking my main page at least 3 times a day for the last two weeks and i still can't get my main page in. There is a reason for this i am sure. I think all newly submitted pages are not even being considered and don't have a prayer. Some of them are making it by the first test phase but can't make it by the second testing phase. PAID submissions upcoming must have something to do with this.
Or maybe i have been staying up too late at nights trying to fiqure this out, and have finally gone insane. Please if any one gets a page to stick in the top 10, EMAIL me with what it was that you so cleverly thought of!!@!!!!
Until then i will keep hacking.............
I think the "specialist" here is the INKTOMI forum itself. The collective effort of people like yourself will eventually crack into this NEW way of INKTOMI life.
The one question I have is - has anyone gotten into the main database since May or June? So far I can't find anything that would indicate anyone has.
Also, it's very clear "to me" that the second database climbs to the top only when there's nothing even close in the main DB - and the main DB is full of junk.
I use to question Yahoo's move to Google - but unless INKTOMI is in some sort of "phase in" right now and we're not seeing the real picture - yahoo knew what they were doing...
