I ask because our lot - about 30 of us - are jumping on the Eurostar at Waterloo (London) next week, heading through the channel tunnel and popping up in France - Lille, to be precise.
This is different, this is new - it makes a change from the usual festive frolics; it's exciting, I'm actually looking forward to it - traditional Christmas market to rummage around, lots of quaint shops, hopefully, dinner in a brasserie... It has all the makings of a very good time.
So, come one then, what will you be doing for work-related festive cheer?
Syzygy
and me too :)
Although perhaps I will have a party with my Company Secratary and the couple of Shareholders (eg. Comp. Sec = Wife and couple of shareholders = the old folks)
Sad really ;)
I organise a night for a crowd of us every year. We all used to work together and we have kept it going, which is good with some guys having parted company as much as ten years ago.
This serves as my xmas "do". (Only problem was the £33 taxi fare home!)
If you are doing France for Xmas try Brittany ..we do quaint ( which wont translate exactly although "mignon" ( cute ) when teamed up with "pittoresque" is close to the English meaning ) really well in some parts ..
Like Cornwall crossed with Ireland ..with 25% frenchness :)
There will be about 10 of us I expect. Most people won't go because our boss is such a useless, arrogant, ignorant....need i go on.
Ska

Anyway... heres to a drink in Glasgow :-) who cares about "xmas" :)
You have to be so careful what you say at these things and after a few.... Well its not worth the bother.
I have seen employees scream and shout at the bosses after a few. It is pretty funny, but nothing gets taken seriously, unless you do something with someone you work with... happens EVERY works night out, (Well to me anyway!)
Or having a senior manager (male) make a pass at you in front of his wife and all of her friends.
:o - would like to have seen the expression on her face
Had ours last week - nothing to write home about - except my new colleagues driving style, or lack of. He picked me up to take me there - within 15 minutes we had nearly crashed 5 times! Twice Head on. He stalled it a copule of times and grated through the gears the whole trip. Nil Pwah! Needless to say I got a cab home.
