plzz Add to this list...
For those that have never done it; listen to "You need loving" from their first album ('65?) and then listen to "Whole lotta love". Whoa, that's uncanny ;-)
If Willie Dixon had heard "You need loving" perhaps he might have sued the Small Faces instead...

edit: I notice all but one of those bands are British - what's up with that

Is that aimed at me?
If so, everyone knows british bands are best ;oP
I just like the dead kennedys and jello biafra for their balls when it comes to highlighting various world issues. I like the music too.

I'm also from that almost-35 generation where I was just a bit too young to see the Pistols live. Kennedys were cool, but I like LARD more.
Rooting through my vinyl collection, you'd find 90% of it is British, I guess it was just that era and the kind of things that were going on in pop, punk & new wave... from Siouxie to New Order, I think the only North American bands I was really "in to" were the Ramones and Blondie.
20 years earlier it would have been the opposite, in the 60s all the good stuff was coming out of California & Motown
Absolutey, LARD are another very good band from the alternative tentacles label. Jello Biafra again.
I suppose we should give some credit to American Rock music.
Hooray! and thanks ever so much for Jon Bon Jovi ;OP
My old band toured with the Ramones about 10 years ago before the sad deaths of most of the members.
Well done on your deductive skills you have me down to a tee.

Judge Dread
Lol; there's a name from the past. The Judge used to own a martial arts shop in Stroud, Kent - a couple of doors down from the 2nd hand record shop I used to spend all day in, on my day off. He used to come in frequently.
We'd also see him do performances at some of the night clubs around Kent. This was, oh, (has to think back...) early eighties.
Mind you I suppose that's a bit like; "my mate's second cousin's uncle used to drink with someone in the pub that used to go to school with blah..." ;-)
