Woz from this Friday's game:-

Would it be possible to have a Friday Word Game without mentioning Member Names or Articles of Clothing please?

Member names I think would be perfectly possible (and probably quite reasonable), but asking us to omit items of clothing is just impossible and I'm sure would result in a members strike/possible revolt and overthrow of current governors. The Word Game wouldn't be the Word Game without underpants.

I mean, really.

And it might get arrested for indecent exposure :-)

>>mentioning Member Names

Has someone complained about the use of a name?

I haven't been around for word games for a while (knew I'd been away too long when I tried to use html in a post earlier ;)).

My name used to come up every so often IIRC - it was my 15 seconds of WebmasterWorld fame :)

However "the Word Game without underpants" is such a horrible image that I can probably live without the articles of clothing being mentioned ;)

The concern is the associations that could be made between Member Names and anything else mentioned in the game simply by the proximity of said Member Names and other words and concepts. It was in fairness to our members that I mentioned it. As to the articles of clothing, well, it just seemed to be a recurring theme.

So, if we amend Rule #1 to read "No Brand Names or Member Names" I'll be happy, and you can continue the fascination with aforementioned articles of clothing.

Deal? - Thanks.

Am I the only one thinking that avoiding member names will/would take away a major part of the fun of word game?

Woz, am I correct in thinking that you are concerned about the possibility that members can be found in searches connected to articles of clothing (e.g. Sinner_G's collection of preserved underpants [google.com.] ;))? In that case, wouldn't it be enough to stop search engines from indexing those threads (or Foo in general)?

I have to say that I found the use of Member Names put me off the word game... Don't ask me for a rational reason for that, just one of my many strange quirks!

I have, however, no opinion on the usage underpants! ;)

Search Engines are not the only ones who read these threads. Lets try the ammended rules for a while and see how we go. OK?

Thanks
