Its one of my favorite thing ..Selecting an old dotcom (now busted) company/guy and googling and reading their story/interviews...Its really amazing how sucessfully they BS'd everyone with their nonsense-crappy idea which have no chance of making a dollar in hundred years!

Hope the golden time returns , have to make a few hundred million :)

I'd settle for just being able to pay the rent.

Yesterday i read about this guy who started a free online (virtual) business card service for individuals ....his plan for revenue is to charge businesses for putting their logos into it :) and he wanted a few billion valuaton for it ... Crap!

He got around 100k signups( Note this is free product with a universal appeal) in a year and was bragging about it.... i can put the paris hilton video free for signup and can achive that number in weeks :)

Check out, "The Dot.Bomb Survival Guide" and "Computing Failure.com". The first is an examination of why dotcoms failed. The second is a collection of magazine articles from 2000/2001 about companies that failed for various reasons. Good learning.

Try the govWorks story, as featured in the movie Startup.com - really good learning experience about how your website can be valued at millions before you actually have a website...

Searching Google for "Computing Failure.com" returns this page as #1 in the SERPS. Weird :P

Rent this movie:

Boom: The Sound of Eviction [boomthemovie.org] by Whispered Media.

The best documentary I've seen about it.

One of my favourite 'failures' is Boo.com - I think they still exist in one form or another today...
