Cryophile is a scientific word, and should never be used to angrily describe a family member who insists on keeping the thermostat set low and all the windows open all winter long.Hee, hee.
I once paid a visit to the north of Minnisota, near Lake Superior, and it was during one of the cold spells. It wasn't possible to remove my gloves for more than a few seconds as the cold felt painful.I spent several years of my youth living about 80 miles south of Lake Superior. It was cold. Then I grew up and worked until I could move somewhere warmer. My hi-lo digital thingy shows 68F - 82F (20 C - 27 C) which beats the heck out of those -18 F mornings so long ago. Yes, cold is a real inspiration.
the dry cold of interior and northern Canada is easily dressed for, the wet cold of the coasts is harder to take in my opinion.
dry cold doesn't feel as bad as damp coldCome summer, everyone will be saying it isn’t the heat, it’s the humidity.
