I always wondered about all those waves passing through the brain from a close distance...

The classification, which puts mobile phone use in the same broad IARC cancer risk category as lead, chloroform and coffee, could spur the United Nations health body to look again at its guidelines on mobile phones, the scientists said.

But more lengthy and detailed research is needed before a more definitive answer on any link can be given.

The WHO had previously said there was no established evidence for a link between cell phone use and cancer.

"After reviewing essentially all the evidence that is relevant... the working group classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans," Jonathan Samet, chair of the IARC group, said in a telebriefing.

He said some evidence suggested a link between an increased risk for glioma, a type of brain cancer, and mobile phone use.

Why does Pete Townsend spend his time doing this research instead of writing excellent rawk songs?

Don't get me started. Please. I'd be booted off (heck, I'd boot me!)

Only remark: Bogus science for political means. After all, wrapping mouth around tail pipe of a carcinogenic producing machine will kill you from carbon MONOXIDE (not dioxide) long before you get cancer, meanwhile, drive all your life, your dad's and grandddad's too without a blimp. And WTF about COFFEE? I've been through cancer already (in remission) and it wasn't the dark bean that did it. (I suspect it was some unusual relationship between one of my prehistoric progenitors and a Neanderthal during a drunken binge after bagging an Aurochs...or maybe after having too much fun at Woodstock)

What REALLY TICKS ME OFF is the SQUEEZEBOX being applied to The World's Greatest Band (even in America, and certainly by guitarist Tangor who grew up playing same) while we JOIN TOGETHER in raised eyebrows regarding this MAGIC BUS rolling with ODDS & SODS. I'd rather look at PICTURES OF LILY. :P
