Has anyone here used the "Satay" method of embedding Flash movies. The Satay method uses the object tag for all browsers and is W3C compliant.
You can read about it at http://www.alistapart.com/stories/flashsatay/

I used it once before, but I stopped after doing more research on it. It seems that some people with Win ME and IE 5.5 can not see Flash movies embedded with the Satay method. I would really like to use it so my site will validate.

Has anyone else here used this method and have there been any incompatibilitys.

I tried it and found that, yes, in IE 5.5 only a non-writable textarea was visible and the frame rate for the animation was way off in Opera 7 (and fine with the standard object & embed). Someone also mentioned in the article discussion a problem with IE6/Flash Player 5. My test page is still live - sticky me for the URL if you want a look.
