I am currently working on a clients website with a flash movie. I need to make changes to the flash, but the file is protected and my client is unable to locate the fla. file. Does anyone know how to get into a protected SWF file without damaging the file?

Find the original FLA.

Seriously, I'm not about to spill the beans on how to crack other people's Flash movies, whether you claim it is for fair use or not.

You can find lots of decompilers and an open source project SWFRIP (and lots of tutorials on how to do it).
