I have a trial edition of Flash MX and I purchased a Flash template that is customizable when the .fla file is editted. I used MX to open the .fla file expecting to see some kind of text or code that I could enter. All that appears is a timeline editor with some elements on the time line in the first frame position only. I am WAY off the path with this one and need mega help. Thanks.

Look in the library you will probably find some movie clips with their own timelines which is probably where all the animation is
Also see if there is an actions layer on the main timeline and on any clips, (if its coded well thats where it should be) there may/should be some actionscript which also may be creating and managing the effects.
