flash movie cant be edited

does anyone know what issue would cause a flash file to be able to be edited to start with, and at certain points cannot be edited? hope that makes sense! having real problems. i do have the code but i dont want to post it up here and be cheeky! any advice appreciated!

Describe "can't be edited" a little more. If it's something you "borrowed" there is a way to protect files when deploying to .swf.
