We are currently in the process of looking at newish technologies that will allow us to make our current application that is deployed in the browser a little more advanced. Features we are looking at having are Pan & Zoom locations embed icons onto hotspots on these images etc. After having a quick look around flex it is my understanding that you can create a flash movie and attach this to the flex framework? Or do you need to create the whole flash movie with the zoom & pan functionality with flex? Or does anyone know of another suitable software package that will allow us to create advanced features such as the zoom & pan images ready to deploy on the browser. The required output is having a scaled image to the client’s browsers resolution setting and then allowing them to further zoom in to the image.
